What is FLIPPI?
The Folder of Levelled
Indicators of Pupil Progress in ICT (FLIPPI) was developed by the Essex
ICT Curriculum advisory team in 2001, to provide support for teachers in
planning for progression and the assessment of ICT at Key Stages 1,2 &
3.
Flippi version 4
Flippi version 4 provides exemplification screen
shots of work within the QCA ICT SOW units at three differentiated
levels for each year group. Suggestions are made of software,
cross-curricular links and vocabulary to introduce. The examples of work
provided reflect the hardware and software supported by the Essex NGfL
managed services. Progress within and between units is identified and
suggestions for pupil-progress targets provided. This feeds into an ICT
report for individual children. Guidance is also given for Teacher
Assessment against National Curriculum Levels.
The Software enables individuals, groups or cohorts to be assessed,
their progress to be tracked and targets to be identified. Individual
reports for ICT are automatically generated. It also allows comparison
of data with similar schools, anonymously via the Internet.
In Essex the AIS ICT team provide the content,
training and support for the Flippi 4 and Flippi X.
Flippi 4 costs £144 per year. (see ordering)
FlippiX
Flippi version X was released
in beta version in November 2006 and enables schools moving away from
the QCA ICT units to create their own units based on the Primary
National Strategy draft ICT Progressions statements. It is designed to
assess ICT capability embedded in other curriculum areas.
